Born as Mudacer Hassan Dar, this 26-year-old self-made singer comes from a modest financial background but elite dreams, driven by his inherent passion for music. The Artist’s Background
Mudacer hails from Dachigam. His father, Gulam Hassan Dar, works in a sawmill, and his mother, Gulshan Ara, is a housewife. His family’s modest income rendered higher education impossible for Mudacer. Consequently, he could only study until the 12th grade and later had to drop out to work in a construction company to support his family.
Beginning in Music and Growth in Popularity
But then, what drove Mudacer to sing? It was an instance that encouraged him to take singing as an ancillary occupation. In 2017, he met a woman named Sara, begging outside a local mosque. She had lost her husband, and with six daughters to feed without any source of income, she had to resort to begging.
Mudacer empathized with the lady and wanted to help her. However, he couldn’t do it due to his meager monthly income. That’s where the idea of singing as an additional profession occurred to him. Along with his friends, he formed a band named Mad Rock Star and began learning guitar through various mobile apps.
When the band felt confident performing, Mudacer approached his school, the NM Boys’ Higher Secondary School. The band’s debut performance earned it INR 3500 for Sara! And that’s how the journey began. Later, the band and their well-wishers started identifying needy individuals, approaching them, and performing for them with their consent. Sometimes the whole band used to perform, while at times, Mudacer used to sing alone.
Today, Baabarr Mudacer runs a YouTube channel, which currently has 14.3k subscribers. He has around 20 videos on it that have garnered over half a million views. His first Facebook song met with a good response, gradually beefing his follower base to around 2000. Then, he launched his page Baabarr Mudacer Your Mad Rockstar.
Mudacer’s Musical Versatility
Mudacer sings almost all types of songs. However, he isn’t just a singer but also a lyricist who promotes Kashmiri culture and creates raps to describe the problems of Kashmiris. Additionally, he plans to start his music academy to train aspiring singers and help them pursue their passion.
Selfless and Modest Mudacer
The young boy from Kashmir has helped many people to date. One of them is a 17-year-old who suffered from kidney disease and received help from Mudacer, who managed to collect a whopping INR 4 lakh in only three days! Then, there were six sisters who had lost their mother, and her father was booked under Public Safety Act. Mudacer and his band performed to help the sisters. He introduces the beneficiary during the show and shares their bank details with the audience to donate money to the cause or the individual.
But then, was Mudacer’s journey, perhaps, as blissful as it is today. No. Initially, the traditionally conservative society did not accept him. However, when he started delivering results, people began understanding his work, and he soon became their voice. Someday, he aspires to enter Bollywood. But he wants to do it without losing himself.
