Jammu and Kashmir is blessed with natural splendour; the mighty mountains, the serenely blue lakes, the lush green landscapes that don colourful flowers and the pleasant weather are the main reasons why J&K is among the world-famous travel destinations. Here we look at the 10 most instagrammable places in Kashmir.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden: Located at the base of Zabarwan Range and providing a view of the Dal Lake, this is Asia’s largest tulip garden spanning more than 30 ha. Known as ‘Srinagar’s jewel‘ or ‘Jewel in the crown of Kashmir‘, it surely qualifies as an instagrammable place in Kashmir. Apart from the scenic beauty of this lake, the houseboats and the floating market are picture-worthy.

Gulmarg: It is located 2650 m above sea level, houses the world’s highest golf course and is nicknamed as the Meadow of Flowers. The ski runs, the Gulmarg Gondola and the meadows of wild flowers are absolutely instagrammable.

Shalimar Bagh: Touted as the high-point of Mughal horticulture and known as the Crown of Srinagar, this public park is a highly popular Mughal Garden in J&K. The chini khanas, the fountains, and the aspen and chinar trees turn this garden into a photographer’s delight.

Avantipur Temple: The Avantishwar Temple dedicated to lord Shiva and Avantiswami temple, regarded as the abode of lord Vishnu, are famed as ideal destinations for photography. This temple near Pahalgam is known for its architecture, and attracts history and art lovers as well as devotees.

Aharbal: The meadows, the pine and fir tree forests, the snow-covered mountains and the Aharbal waterfalls are the main tourist attractions at this hill station. This beautiful place is popular among vloggers and photographers.

Pari Mahal: Known as the Palace of Fairies, it is a seven-terraced garden that overlooks the city of Srinagar. Pari Mahal attracts tourists across the world because of its beautiful architecture. It stands as an example of the art during Shah Jahan’s rule and qualifies as one of the most instagrammable places in Kashmir.

Yusmarg: Being lesser known than other tourist places in Kashmir, this hill station has retained its natural beauty and tranquillity. The maple trees and the surrounding Himalayan ranges, the landscapes, green pastures and water bodies, and the pine nurseries are picture-perfect. Due to this and the variety of plants and animals found here, wildlife and nature lovers are drawn to this place and it is also popular among trekkers.

Kashmir tourism would be incomplete without a visit to these destinations. As they are picturesque, visitors here mostly wish to post photos of these spellbinding places on Instagram and other social media platforms.
